in college at a buddies 1 room house just off campus with two coeds - since it was his house me and her were relegated to the enclosed front porch ....
Dang - didn't know the mail lady came at that time of day :-}
oh, to get back on topic - she almost towed me off the porch !!!
last year I towed a broken down powerstroke crew cab 4X4 about 4 miles with a chain and my little 5.4. Pulled it up a rather large hill as well, I was proud of my little 5.4. Wasn't even a problem for me. Couldnt even tell it was there until i hit the big hill, even then she still pulled it fine at the speed limit with much more to go.
It wasn't me, but happened at a place I was unloading about a year ago. At the plant we had to back our trailer(chemical tanker) into the unloading pit and drop the trailer. Their employee had to put a lock on our gladhand while they were unloading us to keep anyone from moving the trailer. When they were finished they motioned for us to let us know we were ready to go. Normal procedure was to back up close to the trailer, gladhand lock was removed, they signed our papers and then we hooked to our trailer. The driver next to me apparently did not know this and in his hurry he backed straight to the trailer and hooked to it. While the guy was removing the lock. Never stopped, got out and looked, etc, and cut the guy in half on the 5th wheel plate.

OMG....That is a terrible story
As a 10 year Driver myself I can't imagine seeing that but unfortunately believe it happening, especially with a Sleeper-Truck & a rushed Driver NOT using his head....Very sad
He actually physically cut the guy in half killing him?
Yeah. He got caught between the plate on the trailer and the plate on the truck. There isn't room for daylight to pass through there, much less a person. The worst part was they had to leave his top half hanging there and couldn't move anything until osha investigated it and it took them 5 hours to get there.
This reminds my of a story during my concrete days. I would get deliveries of rock and sand with a truck and transfer. One of the drivers told my about one of their drivers getting killed after making a delivery. In the process of hooking the trailer back up, you press a button that is hooked up to the starter with the truck in reverse. THE IGNITION IS LEFT OFF!!! This allows the driver to back up the truck to hook up the trailer hitch. This driver left the igintion in the on position. When she hit the button, the truck started and crushed her between her truck and trailer. Very sad story.
Man that sucks! Grusome Story! Got any with crazy jacknife trailors or anything?
I don't have any jack knife stories, but we did lose a driver a few years back to a bad wreck. He dozed off, ran off the road, woke up and got the truck straightened up. When he woke up he was on the back side of the guardrail and had nowhere to go. He tried to ride it out past the guardrail and didn't see it was ravine until it was too late. The truck hit first and the trailer broke free and crushed the entire cab into about a 6" section.

Back in the day say 1974 I was heading to the water with my buddy. His name was buddy LOL. We were driving a ford wrecker with a small 14 foot customers boat we had to check out in the water. About half way there just past the DQ Buddy says hey where's the boat?
Oh **** its way back there and headed for that/////////////telephone pole..
It hit the pole and opened up like a can of tuna...The boss wasn't happy. Customer got a new boat. Someone didn't latch the latch I guess or do the chains..Lesson learned
