Our new to us 07' was dead this morning when my wife tries to head to work. No interior lights, no cranking, no clicking, nothing. Truck drove fine on Saturday. I put the trickle charger on it, and got enough juice to check to see if the kids left any lights on or something else that was simple and found nothing. I left the charger on and I'll check it when I get home. Short story long, is there anything on these truck that I'm not thinking of that would cause a battery to drain? Thanks Adam
Will do, thanks for the help. I'm thinking it's something simple, of course they never knocked out the date stickers or engraved the battery either so it could be as simple as a dead battery, but I've never had one act so good and then just suddenly fail.
First off I have to say you guys are awesome! Got home tonight and took the charger off the Expy and of course she started right up. As I let it idle and warm up what do you think I noticed, you guessed it a rear wiper that was half way up the back window. Talk to my wife and low and behold she ran the truck through the car wash for the first time and when she went to leave she ran the rear wiper for the first time and apparently it is not working. I pulled the fuse for now and we'll go from there. Thanks again, now what to do with the rear wiper motor...?
Could be the wiper pivot shaft is sticking. Try to run the rear wiper. Then pop open the rear window. If the wiper motor cycles then stops in the park location, the motor works. Too much crud can seep into the assembly and cause it to stick. I fixed mine this evening by dis assembling it, cleaning the parts, greasing it up and reassembling everything. To see details, search this section for "rear wiper". It was a thread on a 2010 Exped.
