Jeff, Traditional Southern Moonshine is made from corn, and sometimes it's better to put the sponge ear plugs in when some of those old holler tales are being told. A little filtration may be needed.

You can purchase 100+ octane corn-free fuel at dragstrips. Or, if you are anywhere near a small regional airport, you can buy aviation fuel which is the same stuff, I think.
I buy five gallons of the stuff every year or so, put some fuel stabilizer in, run all my mowers and small motors using it.
Guys who run small engine repair shops love corn fuel. The stuff eats up fuel lines and gaskets like sulfuric acid.

Oh, I know what you mean John. And I did get a kick (pun intended) outta how you said it. But that same neighbor I mentioned gave me some of the last batch His Uncle had made for consumption AND his son's generator. He sends it through the *till TWICE. It's made out of Pears. Even came with a slice in it. And smells like High Test Pear,LOL! Tastes like Pear flavored Everclear. I have heard a person can make 'shine out of anything that can rot from a few people.
EDIT, BTW, my neighbor had been "home" for a wedding and came back with it.

That aint shine, don't think it will power an engine either, that's brandy. maybe a little twisted in the story telling to. Fruit brandy can be powerfully good.
