Heater Hose

Have a 1995 F350 with 460, the heater hoses are oem and I want to replace but the one from next to Tstat has a Tee with smaller hose that leads to the top of the radiator. I looked at a 93 with same engine and it didn't have Tee or fitting on radiator. How important is this extra hose setup? Is it for burping cooling system or does it relieve some pressure from heater core?

Subscribing. I also wondered what that hose was for. My 89 doesn't have one and my 94 does.

Did you ever find out? I too am replacing and would like to know the what that smaller hose does.

Dealer states the heater hose with fittings (heater core to water pump) are no longer sold....bulk hose is now used and they sell a T fitting to still use the smaller hose that runs from heater hose to just below radiator cap.
