02 4x4 Blahs
My 2002 Explorer starts up in 4x4 mode,is that normal ?? I put on a scan tool http://www.diagtek.com/AutoDiag.htm and found that in park and idling the auto 4x4 clutch engages between 1.9% and jumps to 48%,just back and forth,meanwhile the truck's not even moving or in gear.If you rev it up,the clutch engages harder up to 60%or more.With the engine off,key on, the clutch still engages the same way,you can see the % go up proportionally with the throttle position,up to around 97% at WOT....but the truck is not even running.I think this takes the front and rear drive shaft speed sensors out of the equation,and points the finger at the 4x4 module.There is no stored trouble codes either,and the self test comes back clean.
Does anyone have a similar problem or have any other ideas ?
