I have a 1991 Ford Explorer and the EEC Circuit keeps blowing out. I replace it, start the engine and it blows again. My fuel pump is on this circuit so my car wont run. That wire looks fine, my mecanic said it also may be my computer...
What else is on this cicuit and does the dealer or a mechanic have a self diagnostic computer that can be plugged into the car to see if the computer is okay or to find out what wire might be shorted? or am i going to be searching for wires forever...
(also I just had a head gasket job 5 months ago and i just had my a/c and rear passenger power windows fixed last week, could any of the wires in the vicinity be damaged causing this problem??)
Can you be a little more specific on what fuse is blowing? EEC power comes from the main power dist box under hood on fuse #8-30 amp, and it runs all over the place feeding EEC, injectors, EDIS module, Fuel pump relay coil and some sensors (MAF) also.. Fuel pump power comes from fuse #1-30 amp, thru Fuel pump relay contacts to Inertia switch and EEC monitor lead then on to fuel pump motor. If you tell us what one is blowing, we can help trace it down in the wiring schematic.
