78 supercab CGVWR
Looking for the combined gross vehicleweight rating on my 1978 f150 supercab, C6, 6.6litre, 3.50 rearend. The door tag says 6400 GVWR, but how much can I safely tow. Thinking of getting a 25 foot fifth wheel with a slide and want to know what the heaviest trailer is for my truck to haul legally and safely. The truck weighs approx 4400 empty, so hitch weight probably is not an issue. I have an extra set of leafs in the rear and plenty of truck payload capacity(2000 lb). Oh, forgot to mention it has the trailer towing package and external trans cooler too. Anyone out there tow a similar size trailer?
