1995 F150 Standard Cab Longbed - 302 5 speed. 160k
Paid 2150. First truck and first vehicle
Bought it almost a month ago! She needs a little love, but cleans up nice. Hasn't need anything yet, just did routine maintenance after I bought her (oil, filters, ect.)
Low on money, but there are a million things I want to do to her....
Good: Totally stock, non-modified. Very straight body with no rust. Factory repaint. Perfect interior, non-smoker. Tow package w/ trailer brake controller. Strong 5.8L motor.
Bad: Transmission shifting hard, emergency brake didn't work, loose steering box, leaking power steering pump, soft brake pedal. The truck was pretty much a neglected basket case. Loose rivet in front crossmember/frame
Done: Fixed the e-brake, dome light, replaced master cylinder & front pas. caliper, tightened steering box, levelled front with rear. Refurbished power window motors, replaced power lock actuators, speakers, window scrapers & re-attached interior door panels. Pulled codes and replaced TPS.
To-do: Replace steering box, power steering pump, MLPS sensor, crossmember rivet. Swap the 235/75r15 tires for 31x10.50r15.
$600 on a 93 f150xlt 5.L v8 200XXXkm on her
then spent $90 on a pair of flow tech headers and true duel exhaust and now she wakes up the neighborhood
and got rid of mud flaps running boards boat rack, bug deflector, fog lights, and got a grey canopy and a set of 31x 10.5 15 her
102k 96 F150 Xcab 4x4 351W Eclipse package leather inside mood lighting, wood grain, radar(haha from 96) full painted stripe package not stickers power rear slider. I bought it back in 07 for I think 6800 ot 6200 blue booked for $12,400 then, 208k on it now.
pic from before the lightning bed, just after I swapped SD rear leafs on(pulled factory blocks out)
I bought a '96 F-350 4x4 CC 7.5L 5-spd in 2008 for $6700. It was a Cali truck with 138K miles and had the MAF on it. I owned it until the end of 2011. I miss that truck and wished I still had it but I can't keep them all. I like my '99 Powerstoke more. I think I put about $8700K in that truck in performance and replacement parts. I sold it to my brother in law for $8900 and it had 152K miles. He hocked it 6 months later for around $6700 to some guy in Colorado. Wasn't a good investment for me. I had intentions of putting a 5.9L Cummins in it which was a legal swap in California but when I moved to Utah it was not a legal swap in Davis County. If I lived in Weber or Salt Lake county it would have been legal. That just means Davis County Health Dept is more communistic than California. In frustration I sold the truck and used the funds on the new house we bought. I always lose money on cars and trucks.
Bought my 1991 F150 XLT Lariat for $875.00, with 196k miles on it, and off the road since 2007... I've put around $600 into her- brakes(shoes, hardware kits, cylinders, calipers, pads, flex lines, hard lines), TPS switch, oil change, temp sender for the gauge, wiper blades, turn signal lamp, tires... I'm happy with what I got... Still tracking down two EEC IV codes, but she's almost ready for NJ inspection...
Only thing I didn't get that I wanted(besides 4wd) was the Captains Chairs & center console: but I have a deal with another forum member, and hope to have them in June...
Paid 2500 for this 1987 f250 with newer 460 and a ZF 5 speed. The engine is in great shape, but there are some minor issues with wiring and the carb that are currently being addressed.
I payed $2000 a few months back, 209,xxx. Looks like I need to do a head gasket change but it's running fine. 5.8L, E4OD, 4x4. SuperCab. The only thing I wanted that I didn't get was a 5 speed and that was so my wife could drive it in a pinch (she still refuses to learn how). Need to put a front fuel pump in it also. It's got rust starting to show through on the cab corners and the rear wheel wells, I convinced they are designed to rust there so people would just buy a new truck.
I paid and enormous sum compared to most of you, $7000. But It is a rust free Crewcab diesel 5 spd. which are hard to find to say the least. I was looking for a little over 2 months and found 2 one of which was the one I bought. These trucks non CC start at 4k around here no matter then condition it seems. I got it around a month ago and have out a little under 1000 into it. 299xxx miles and runs like a top.

My favorite photo of the truck:
That looks like a serious front suspension! how rough is the ride?
No pictures yet, but I just picked up a 1997 F-250 Supercab 4x4 Powerstroke, with 315k miles, and copious rust issues, for $600. runs and sounds good, the plan is to do a full body swap with a rust-free F-150 that will not pass smog. (from CA) I will see how that works out...back in 1997 I bought a very similar truck brand new, and I have missed it for the past 15 years.
Bought a 88 F150 4x4 with a 302 and M5R2 for 1150. have put over 1500 into it and yet every weekend its a new problem. starter just went out and my intake manifold is leaking.....again. no rust and decent interior. bed is beat up but it will be my work truck. getting a newer truck with no problems. 2007 f150. cant wait. but i think in time i will let this 88 go. tired of fixing it already
1992 F-250HD bought new by my uncle at Gresham Ford near Portland Oregon for ? Well sticker was $23K anyway. I bought it in 2005 while in grad school for $3k from my aunt after Uncle Bob passed. He was a machinist by trade and VERY **** about maintenance. My aunt actually hated the truck for all the time he spent on it with toothbrushes in the nooks. It's CLEAN.. I'm keeping the tradition alive but only really drive it enough each year to burn off the old gas. Non-ethanol only, fresh fluids, garage kept its whole life.
And just a few weeks ago I just picked up this 87 for $1k. Something to kick around in and do weekend skut work. Starting to dress it up.. just found bumpers today, thinking about a rear locker and a hitch winch.
