pulsating idle
I have a 1979 mercury cougar with a 351w and it has some serious idle issues, when idling hot it likes to start pulsating, it will idle down and rev back to normal but is idles down so bad that it will kill itself at a red light, and I have good vacuum about 22 at an idle.

Just wondering, is the vacuum advance connected directly to manifold vacuum or is it connected to ported vacuum through a TVS that switches to manifold vacuum when it gets hot?
By hot are you referring to normal operating temp or on the verge of overheating?
