Here's pictures of treadwear on all 4 tires (drive and steer axles) as of this morning, at 112,000 miles and counting, on a set of Michelins:
Impressive. That's some serious mileage and religious tire rotation to get that kinda mileage. Nice job!
I'm needing tires as well. Should I go with the M/S or the A/T2? I haul pretty regularly and drive gravel and field but would like a quiet ride on the highway. Thx
The AT2's will give you better gravel and field traction, but are also very quiet on the highway. You will get a little better tread life off the MS version.
I'm going to buck the trend here and say that I did not like the Michelin AT2's that came on my F350. They were having tread blocks ripped out down the middle two rows with only 14k miles. I sold them and bought some Toyo MTs. The Toyos show no signs of similar damage with 12k miles on them.
It also looks like the pics above are not the same tread pattern as the current AT2. I will say that I had Michelin LTX MS2's on our old Expedition and loved them. I also run Michelin XPS Ribs on my 5th wheel and love them. I'm definitely not a Michelin hater, but the 275/60/20 AT2's that came on my truck were terrible.
