coolant change
decided to change the coolant/change thermostat and rad cap in my '07 expy. drained the rad and pulled the block plug on the driver's side. couldn't locate the plug on the passenger side. perhaps it's behind the starter. anyways, block plug came out clean. it was a 6 or 8mm hex. put in about 12 liters or so. just thought i'd share.

Isn't the freeze plug replaced with the coolant heater on the northern models?

Negative Monte, there is a threaded plug below the block heater/frost plug on the drivers side.

humm weird, my truck did not ship from the factory and thus the ford part required removal of a freeze plug for installation. Weird.

Sorry, I misunderstood you. Yes the block heater takes the place of the frost plug in the rear most spot. What I pulled out to drain the coolant was a threaded plug below the block heater.
