GPCM

Where is the Glow Plug Control Module located on a 2007 f250 6.0? I am getting P063 as the only code throwing with a check engine light on. I see many saying to check the connector and wiring before just buying a new one. Advice and where it's located with pic appreciated.
Thanks

It's on the passenger side follow the wiring harness and you see a green and black connection to a silver box. Atleast it's in that spot on my 2006

I believe it is in that same spot on every 6.0 ever made.

Passenger side valve cover, aluminum box with cooling fins on it. Arrows are pointing to the connectors (from another post).

Is replacing this just a plug and play kind of thing? Can you just unplug and remove the old one and put the new one on and plug in? No programming or anything else to do?

Same question with PCM? P0683 says gpcm or PCM normally the issue. Start with gpcm? Is the PCM also plug and play?

Start with the gpcm plug and play and a lot cheaper than a PCM [about a grand]
The PCM may need to be FLASHED updated depending if your still stock; been flashed before or running a tuner and a tune.

Is CEL on and only cod being P0683 normally the gpcm? Easy to change? Just unplug 2 plugs, unbolt, and bolt new one on and plug them back in?

It is very easy to change - plug and play. Likely will want to remove the CAC hose/pipe to make life easier. That's the only work really. I am not sure about the code. P0673 is most likely the #3 glow plug (second from the front passenger's side). Is this the code or P0683?

It's P0683. Where is the cheapest place to get a OEM GPCM?

Tousley if the best price. I have a used one from when I replaced one and it turned out the glow plug was the problem. PM if you are interested in it

DY-876 is the Motorcraft part number for an OEM replacement GPCM. Do a search on that to determine where you can obtain one for the best price. In answer to your question, it is just plug and play, and most likely the source of your problem.

Under $100 is a good deal I assume. Local stealer here in San Antonio wants $185.00 for it. I have a message into Tousley to see what they can do. Would like to find one under $100 locally but oh well. I would love for the CEL to go dark again.

I found a brand new one Motorcraft for 94.79. No one could get close to that.
