I got this truck a while back and the motor was bad. So I pulled it. When pulling the motor the dipstick got caught and broke the dam thing into.
I got another pan and the dipstick tube is installed on it and it's fine.
I have the motor upside down right now and want to install the oil pan on now.
My problem is the tube is hitting the power steering pump and wont allow the pan all the way back down. If I rock the pan to the side I can get it on. I have not placed my exhaust manifolds back on yet and I'm see a gap that I think I can squeeze the Manifolds under later.
So I'm wondering how to remove the tube so I can set the oil pan on and then the manifolds then stick the tube back in?
Thanks
Take a look here scroll down to the pic of the oil pan see the fitting that is on the dipstick end ? it just threads in to the pan .. If you want to remove it just unthread it ..
If it has RTV on it, they may have cross threaded it or stripped the threads. You should check it really well before installing it and finding out later
