No Brad, No Holes are drilled for these. The factory tie downs come off and these go under. What's wrong?????? Your mom not hold you enough as a child? If you want I'm sure there's more than enough guys here that are comfortable enough with their sexuality to get together and give you a group hug.
The factory tie downs go back over the mount so they are still usable. They are at all 4 corners. Yea I gotta hide the other tie downs........Don't want the wife to find them. LMAO
On another note, I would like to point out how USELESS those factory tie downs really are. Just about the only thing that will fit in there is a bungee cord...
I am curious though as to how long you have had your tonneau cover. I can't seem to find any that are hard ones for the Flareside. I like the fact that they use those mounting locations as well. The PO of my truck added some home brew mounts that thankfully the bed liner covers.
Got the cover and all the other stuff on the truck that way last fall. Its the original one from the upfitter in 94. PO boight truck with 31000 on the odometer from the dealer that bought it from the rental car company's auction. Have a folder full of receipts of all work done to truck from PO.
Hey steel horse could u tell me if possible where did u get those hold downs for the flare side. Company name if possible or the company name on the hard cover could be a start. I'm definitely interested in a set. I want to avoid drilling holes unnecessarily. Thanks.
Hey Evan p. Ur right about the bungee cord thing. I have the same problem wit those tie downs. Hahaha lol.
Steel horse thanks for the info. I'll see if I can find some one to fab up brackets like yours. Wen I seen it I thought ingenuity. Simple idea. Every one was telling me leer caps for my ride. I'm goin to be looking into it soon. Or Jericho caps. Thanks again everyone for all the help. Much appreciated.
I am ATTEMPTING to mount my flare side cap and I do NOT want to screw it down if at all possible. But I am got having much luck with making a clamp that looks similar to the ones manufactured.
Does anyone know where to BUY these?
I called CENTURY and they appear to not be able to get them anymore
Please tell me where to find a 13" long 3/8 bolt and the aluminum clamp like shown
Fastenal sells four versions of the bolt, and I could mill the clamp out of a 4x4x1 inch chunk of aluminum in about a half hour. Though the clamp shown is extruded, and cut on a bandsaw.
That clap is just the top half of a standard topper clamp. Any decent truck acccesory store will have the clamps for sale. Or just google truck topper clamps. If you just take the clamp apart and then add the bolt....
