Drug Problem

Big drug problem in the 40's 50's and 60's the kind all kids should have today!!!

I had a drug problem when I was young. I was drug to church on Sunday morning. I was drug to church for wedding and funerals. I was drug to family reunions no matter the weather. I was drug to the bus stop to go to school every weekday. I was drug by my ears when I was disrespectful to adults and teachers. I was
also drug to the woodshed when I disobeyed my parents. Those drugs are still in my veins; and they affect my behavior in every thing I do, say, and think. They are stronger than ocaine, crack, or heroin, and if today's children had this kind of drug problem, America might be a better place.

Drug Problem

My folks didn't make me do anything I didn't want to after I turned 15..But I knew what I needed to do and what I didn't need to do...
All I wanted to do was drink alittle enjoy my truck, fish at the bayou and dance with girls in the bed of my truck...
My child life was good..I am married now to a great woman and love every minute of it...

And thats all I got to say about that.

Drug Problem

All that is not nessicarily true. I went to church when I was a kid but my parents quit making me go when they realized I didn't enjoy it or even pay attention. I was never spanked...only grounded once in my life. and I turned out just fine ( at least my parents seem to think I did.) Never really drank in high school tried pot a copule of times decided for myself its no good. I am about to go into my 4th year of college with a 3.0GPA

Being forced to do things by parents isn't always the key to a good up bringing...I was a good kid because I had good parents but they weren't push overs they just showed me that they love me and i didn't wanna do anything to make them mad at me cause things were good how they were...Know what I mean?
I know many kids who gave there parents hell just because their parents would ground them. the second their parents said no to something it was like a green light to go a head and do it. I think things like this is because the parents didn't make it known how much they cared for their kids, so the kids got attention any way they could.

Maybe I'm off base but hey it worked for me.

I can't tell you how much I can relate to that...
I hate to say this but in many ways kids who were brought up by the Bible were really put through hell as kids and never really saw how people really acted out in the world...I mean teenage guys are going to cuss and talk about women and want to go drink and stuff...I knew a kid who was a preacher's kid and he really got it hard...Now he is jobless still living with his parents..He got into drugs when he turned about 22 now he is 29.

I think every person is responsable of how they grow up..People know whats right and whats wrong....

Exactly...I know some of you said that you were children of ministers and preachers, so not be offensive but, some of the worst kids I have ever know were the kids of the clergy they had it beaten in to their head that they had to be good then they just snapped and become just the opposite...and daughters of minister are sometimes the "friendliest" of girls if you know what I mean. Not that I know from expereience but just people that I have known.

Drug Problem

It doesn't have anything to do with preachers or drugs. it has to do with discipline and the positive effects of correctly applied discipline.
