Today I pulled into Flying J and began filling up with diesel. Then I saw that they had put up some signs that warned about using B20. I continued to fill tanks. So will this B20 stuff ruin my 2002 7.3 engine? Sure hope not. Thanks for any info. HamRad
All my pumps where I live say "Bio between 5-15%" for the last 3 years. If you have never used Bio before be prepaired to mabe have to change your fuel filter early. The Bio is supposed to have lots of cleaning properties. I never have any issues with it in my 2000.
^^What he said.
If you are going to keep running the bio and have not done the in tank mods it would be a good time.Get rid of those socks inside the tank, install a filter outside the tank and use to Goodyear injection hose rated for bio.
As stated above, they've got it pretty much covered. B20 is a relatively low concentration, and depending upon the starting condition of your fuel tank and system, it could take quite a while to see any potential issues. I've been running mostly B100 for the past 5 or so years, and I still haven't changed out the O-rings in the fuel bowl yet, (non-Viton), and still no leaks. You'll gain a substantial amount of lubricity, and with B20, any MPG and power loss should be minimal.
