Hey everyone,
My car starts to ping(it sounds like a diesel) after it warms up(after a good 15 minutes of driving),running regular unleaded gas. When I put super unleaded the pinging stops.
I have ran the codes and nothing comes up and the timing is right on the money. Any ideas what's wrong? or do I keep running super unleaded?

The engine may have a lot of carbon build up on the pistons. Has the truck always been pinging or did it just start?

When I got it would ping, then I started using Chevron Super unleaded and it went away. I then tried to downgrade to Chevron plus in hope that it would have gotten better but it started to ping a little, then I tried regular unleaded and the pinging became very noticeable.
