I have just bought my first 81 pickup and interior is leaking water somewhere. The day after a storm the interior smells sour. Can you guys explain to me how to remove the cowl? I know this is a problem area but have no idea how to remove to check for leak or seal it.

I'm sorry I can't help you directly but I got a pretty good idea about removing and reinstalling the cowl when I looked up changing the wiper motor. As far as sealing I'm not so sure what to look for.
Wish I could help more. Changing your search parameters might yield more info. 90% of the info I gleaned on replacing the wiper motor was actually about the cowl.
