Hello to all, I have a 63 F-100 long bed with a 292, 3 on the tree tranny, I want to install a automatic without modifying the floor board if possible, something that will just pop in, any suggestions or help would be appreciated.
Thanks
So are you planning on keeping the 292, and putting a (G) code Cruise-O-Matic behind it?
1961/78: The IDIOTS at FoMoCo used the G Warranty Plate TRANS code for all Truck/Econoline A/T's! One had to know which A/T was available with what engine.
FX once known as small Cruise-O while MX known as big Cruise-O. FX & MX also installed in 1958/67 T-Bird (MX), full sized Ford/Merc Passenger Cars, except 1966/67's with 410/428 (C6).
so what your saying is I can only use a automatic transmission that came on the trucks you have listed, I'm not familiar with the types or names of these tranny's.
I was also wondering if there is a modern tranny that would work.
Thanks for the help
