All I find is two clamps (one on upper left and one on middle right) for the interior engine cover on my 1990 E350 motorhome. I release them but the cover seems still attached. The left side wiggles a little but the right won't move. Is there another clamp? How does it come off--straight back, up and back? I tried to hook up a tach from under the hood and it is near impossible, but with this cover off it should be easy as the coil is rearward, above the left valve cover. Finally, does the cover go back on as good--that is, will it seal as well, or will I get engine odors coming into the cab (which I would love, but wife will NOT!)
Thank you. I couldn't find this info in the Chilton manual nor in the Ford truck owners manual. Maybe I didn't look hard enough. Anyway, yours is the information I need, rather than giving it that old "high school" try that results in bent parts, etc.

my 91 has 2 bolts to the floor and a clamp on each side. Undo all. I took 2 lg flat screwdrivers and carefully pryed the tail up slightly from the floor. Got my fingers under and grabbed on and pulled with steady force until it broke loose. It was a toughie! If second hand, your bolts could be missing yet the cowling stuck in place.
