i just hit a pothole on my way home just now and now my front right caliper is sticking. it happen about 10min from my house. as soon as i hit the pothole i can feel my truck pulling to the right and felt like there was some resistance when i was driving. i got home and peeked my head in the wheel-well and i can smell the brakes burning and smoking a little. how would hitting a pothole cause a caliper to stick. Is there anyway to unstick it or am i gonna have to change that caliper out t

I'm gonna take a stab at this. You may only have dislodged a break pad. Now it's binding in there, or one of the little pad clips. Sounds like it was a good size hole. I think if your breaks were off at the time this might be the issue.
i did hit it pretty hard. i was in a rush there was a big truck in front of me and i didnt see it plus its raining out here. i will have to wait until tomorrow to pull the wheel when it stops raining hopefully its only a brake pad dislodged like u said
UPDATE....So it turned out to be one of the caliper slide pins was frozen in the caliper bracket. i replaced the bracket on the passengers side put new brakes on both sides and new slide bolts also. now my problem is when i drive for alittle while and everything gets heated up both front brakes calipers hang up.. i took the truck for a 20min. drive and as soon as i pulled it in my driveway i jacked up the front and i could not spin either wheel by hand, thats how tight the calipers were. after about 15min sitting the calipers started to release and i was able to spin the wheels like it should be. what would cause that?? could it be the 2 front brake lines and or possibly need to change the fluid. the fluid looks pretty dirty. i dont think its the calipers because if i pull the wheels i can put a C clamp on them and push the pistons back without a problem, so they dont seem to be frozen, there just not releasing when the truck gets hot and slowly release as it cools off... i was told that the brake line can break down on the inside even if the outside look good. Can anyone help me out
I had the same problem that you are describing. A caliper replacement fixed it. My guess is that the non-metallic pistons in the calipers get damaged when they overheat and do not work well afterwards. This is only a guess.
How about the little "C" shaped spring clips on the bottom of the pads. They are attached to both pads. They go in the tiniest of holes on the pad. They are a real bitch to put on before you slide the pads into position. They hold the pads apart when the breaks are off. Might be ?

Those springs that go on the outside of the pads are all on. All four, 2 on each side, 1 on the top and 1 on the bottom of the pads. And yes they are working also. When I put them springs on I have to squeeze the pads together to slide the caliper over them. I think I'm gonna change the brake lines and flush out all the old brake fluid front and back first since they are cheaper then calipers. If that doesn't solve it I guess the only other thing it could be is the calipers.
No ABS lights on in the dash so I doubt that's the problem
If none of this solves your problem consider replacing the soft brake lines and bleeding the system. Might want to do all the soft lines front and rear.
The hoses one or both up front could be collapsed internally not allowing the fluid to release pressure when the brake pedal is released.
