coolant flush
took my truck in for oil change truck has 206960 mi.18k on ford reman motor new radiator hoses.coolant filter he recomended coolant flush i did not even ask how there procedure was. is it possible i need coolant replaced? oh this is my dealership also degas bottle was replaced in oct. by a dealer in sd.

just got my 92 ford with 306,000 miles on it, rusted water running though her, did coolant flush and changed the squealing water pump, used prestone coolant, was wondering if the ford gold was worth using or if sticking to prestone would be more ideal since its in there already.

Yeah thats what I was thinking, truck runs on the cooler side even when 100° out so not not worrying about it. Thx

The 1992 with the IDI 7.3 needs to have coolant with SCA's in it. This protects the cylinder wall from cavitation where the cylinder wall gets eaten through from the water side.

I believe that, I have a 1992 f150 4.9l L6, never bought any other coolant beside prestone as I dont have a diesel that you would want to use better coolant, wish to have a 99 7.3 f250 someday.
