I have been looking for some mag wheels to see how much I would need to save up to get some when my truck is done. I have looked through the other posts on the board but most of them are pretty old. just wondering if any of you guys have any pictures or preferences to what is good or what fits. Please let me know where are good places to look and how to find some good deals. If anyone has some that they do not think that they look good on their truck and think they would look better on mine let me know.
My truck is a work in progress and all I have is some pictures but they are all not done. I want to paint it either black or green. the rims that I am looing for are 16" rims that I want to put some thicker wall tires on because my truck sits a little low for my tastes.
Any suspension or rear swaps planned? Get that done before buying wheels in case you change bolt patterns or axle widths. You can decide on a style but dont buy until you are ready.
Swap meets or craigslist seems to be the best way to get wheels and tires cheap for me. I never buy new at the store but have bought new never mounted wheels and tires for a fraction of original cost because they are usually not returnable once mounted..which means you need to measure correctly before buying
Sorry for not getting back sooner I have been busy and have not been able to get onto the board. Thanks for the info though I have some stuff to think about.
Here is another picture of Crager's. When you decided on what you want you might look a Summit Racing, sometimes they have great tire and wheel packages. They come mounted, balanced, ready to bolt up and no sales tax (depends where you live) or shipping.
I'm running a set of Ford F150 aluminum wheels from the early 1990's. I paid about $150. for all four and they have the same bolt pattern as the stock '51 did (I believe they're 5x5.5"?)
