engine mounting info.

Hi, I am in the need of some specs for my project. I have a 1940 pickup, and will be putting a 289/C-4 in it using the original chassis. I just purchased tci's engine mounting brackets. I would like to know where I need to weld them exactly. I have tci's mustang 2 ifs in front. Any info. will greatly help. Thanks!

engine mounting info.

First of all welcome to FTE! I hope that we can help you out and that you keep visiting here.

I say it's all about where you want the engine to set. With all of the suspension installed, you can bolt the tranny and engine together and let it dangle down so you can find the best place for it, then take the mounts and put them in there. Just watch for the oil filter, all steering components, make sure you can get the pan off, the pullys are fee (including the fan if you use one oof the motor) and that everything has at least 1/2 and inch of space or so.

There's not really an official place that I've heard of, but this should get you there. Hope this helps. Good luck and keep us posted.
