Trailer tires life expectancy

I usually get around 20k on ST's. Again it can also depend on the axle alignment. I learned several years ago that every 20 or 30k, go ahead and have the axles aligned as it scrubs the tires. Longer trips is where I got into trouble. Here is a link that helps explain: Axle alignment critical to set wheels and tires in optimum position; TMC manual and educated technicians can help | Distributors, Upfitters content from Trailer Body Builders

After so many blowouts on ST tires on my Airstream, I completely changed out my 15" St's with 16" E rated LT Michelin M/S-2's. I do not worry about tread seperation any more. I will not run ST's except on my 16' utility trailer and then, I will change them every 3 years. ST's are mostly crap no matter which brand, IMHO.
