So I am having trouble with my drivers side signal light it will not work. Hazards work and passenger side works but when I to the other way the flasher will not click and the display bulb in the cluster shows a very weak steady light. I have replaced bulbs, relay and the signal switch in column I am at a loss please help. This is on a mid 1978 F100 with square headlights.
Sorry to keep asking more questions without providing a solution, but does the front left running light work at all?
While it's not immediately clear yet why, it's smelling like the front driver side turn signal socket needs to be replaced. A dim, steady indicator bulb means current is back-feeding to ground through the cluster, and 99% of the time it's because the ground out at the front socket is bad. I'm expressing a little confusion because that phenomenon is usually joined by a few other common symptoms (hence my asking about interaction with the running lights), but that's most likely what's going to end up being the problem nonetheless.
