mazda trans woes...
i just put in a new first/second gear shift fork in my 2wd 1/2 ton,
and now it seems to have a "clunky" feel when shiftin' from 1 to 2, and it grinds a bit on 2 to 3 and from 3rd to 4th....not to mention the lurchin' and grindin' it does when reversing.
is there some kinder adjustment i gotta do? this is the first manual i ever worked on, didn't have a prob gettin the fork in the top cover, just flustrated now, lol thanks fer the help

havn't yet worked on it since last weekend, been helping some friends build a house, and farming...finally got the wheat out...maybe this weekend i can take care of it...drivin' the '89 4X4 for now...yeah, it's a Ford (what else would i drive) lol

i think i'm in serious need of a "new" or rebuilt tranny...
any rough ideas of what price i should expect for a parts-yard trans?
it's perty well shot, all the syncs are wore out... metal shavings everywhere in the thing....trucks has over 200,000 miles...

I have a 1988 F150 with a 5 speed mazda tranny. I can buy them rebuilt for $700 to $1300. You can't find a used one cheaper than that.
