EGR help?
I recently bought a 98 F150 with a 4.6 (100k mi) and the Check Engine light came on. I had a local parts store hook up a scan tool and it read "insufficient EGR data". I bought an EGR (Wells# EGR2004) and it looks the same, except that the inlet for the exhaust gas is on the wrong side. So I cleaned out the carbon deposits inside and put vacuum to it, and it works. I disconnected the battery and cleared the code, but the light came back on the next day. Can anyone help?

EGR help?
It is probably the egr sensor. It has 2 hoses running to it fron the EGR tube coming from the manifold. These are known to go bad. If you scan thru the 97-2003 forun, there are a few threads about these.
