Hello, and welcome to the forum. You've posed an excellent question. I would like to know if there's any tags or labels that would say where the truck was built? Many exported overseas trucks were built in Canada, but Ford also had assembly plants in Europe and Africa, too. The vin you posted does not correspond to either US or Canadian sequences. It's similar to Canadian, but doesn't quite fit. Any details you could add would help us help you.

 

thanks a lot 52 merc I couldn't find the plate on the door jamb where else I can find the number on the truck I have a 52 f1 also and I would love to post you pictures soon before I start restoration

 

My 55 has the VIN in 2 places.
Plate on the glove box door.
On the top of the frame, passenger side just ahead of the front body mount and engine compartment.

 

FH0V5H17052.

V could possibly refer to 239 OHV V8 - 5 to 1955 - H to Detroit Truck Assembly Plant.
