Typical 6.0 Issues but working through them.

First off this is my first post here about my truck.
Truck Background:
2003 F350 6.0 Crew Cab Lariat 4x4 245000 miles I have had for over 2 years and slowly working out kinks as they appear and can $ wise.
I have a SuperCHips VIVID LINQ tuner with canned tunes available for towing, performance, economy and light towning. It runs off of my phone whish I am replacing so I do not have any codes right now. However before I replaced the FICM this week it was running rather slughishly and was throwing random coeds from the injectors and I only had 37v on the FICM so that was replaced along with two new batteries to ensure the voltage was correct.
I replaced the FICM with a new one from Pensacola Diesel and I am still having the same issues with sluggish starts, very bad skip when shifting into overdrive it will shake and hop but before all the temps are up to normal. I am thinking that I may need to replace a couple injectors (The rep from PD said it is possible for my injectors need to be changed out with the milage on them----NOTHING DONE TO THE TRUCK UPGRADE WISE YET) but will not know definately until I hook up my new android phone fri or sat when it comes. Just fishing for ideas. Other thing I have done is pulled the EGR valve and it is clean almost looks brand new (not sure if this a good sign or bad) esp with the milage I have on it. I religously put an additive in the tank to clean the injectors so I am almost out of ideas other than replacing them a couple at the time.
If someone could point me in the correct path I would greatly appreciate it. I am going to buy the blue spring upgrade and am thinking now I should have upgraded to the 58v FICM. But then again always second guess when the first guess does not work out. Thanks for any advise in advnce.
Joe

What specifically are you adding to clean the injectors?

Just some ideas, are you using OEM oil/fuel and air filters with the OEM oil filter cap? With the miles you have on your truck I would say it is not a bad idea to replace the injectors, just make sure you use only OEM remanufactured as they are the best quality you can get. And you would gain nothing from the 58V FICM, it would just have lightened the load on your wallet. Installing the blue spring is a most excellent idea, you also need to know what the dynamic fuel pressure is ( especially if you are going to install new injectors as low fuel pressure is the leading cause of injector damage ) It needs to be above 45 PSI at WOT.
Here is a youtube video comparing the aftermarket filters and OEM,

I am using diesel kleen cetane boost when I add fuel... I was using napa gold fuel and oil filter but I read somewhere that the best filter is motor craft so I switched that last service and will or should be doing that agin soon. Rotela 15w-40 oil ( read that maybe too heavy) change coming soon. By no mean beating my head against the wall yet just small things that I do not want to turn huge...besides it is a lot cheaper to ride my motorcycle to work than my truck...just want to fix something's to make sure I can get my 8000lb boat to and from the ramp this summer. Thanks

Say, does the NAPA filter have a very large cap? And then did you get a Motorcraft filter to put into that cap?

If so, you need an OEM cap for that Motorcraft filter.

Motor craft one did not come with cap..but napa did...I don't remember which one is on it. Will order another one when I change the oil. Looking at it now looks like the napa one is on it.

Then, your oil could be just draining back into the pan.
Stop by ford and grab a cap and replace it. Don't wait for the next oil change.

This can be a source of your issues.

+1 on the cap replacement. If you're running the Motorcraft filter in the NAPA cap it's draining down everytime you shut it off and isn't filtering the oil when it's running.

Just to clarify: is there anything wrong with the NAPA gold oil filter. My brother said motor raft is the best to use in the 6.0 any clarifying info is appreciated.

Wow what difference the correct filter and cap make. I picked up the new cap from the ford dealer in Gulfport $20 with military discount and was asking about the spring kit and they wanted $79 for so just say I left it there with him. Going to go pick up a new coolant resevoir shortly and install that. I found a small crack in mine that need attention since it starting to get hot down here.
Anyway I replaced the filter cap, started it up and it built up oil pressure and running like a champ sitting in my driveway. Taking it out for a drive to pick up resevoir here in a minute so will see how it does on the highway.
