Just got a 2004 E350, will be used to cart around the family. I have a daughter with special needs, and I need to have better control over how loud the sound is for her. I also need a CD player, and the van is the lowest trim level. First, any suggestions on head units? For the sound need, I was considering putting new speakers in the front and rear, then getting an additional set of speakers to custom-mount in an intermediate spot, and perhaps amp them separately so I could run an independent gain control to the front. I'd appreciate suggestions on speakers, amps, and mounting locations- I appreciate the help.
Thanks!
My E350(xlt) has 6 speakers. From what I am seeing most aftermarket cd players are setup for 4 speakers and then have preamps.
I am thinking that I would run four speakers on the decks internal amp and then the ones you want separate control connect to a separate amp. That is how I am planning to setup 6 speakers. I also want to install a subwoofer which would need its own amp.
Looking to buy a DVD unit with back up camera so that I can connect trailers easier by myself.
FYI, I am not an expert. Just trying to accomplish a similar project.
My special needs daughter will want the sub under her seat.
