I'm looking to install modern seats into my 1970 Crew Cab. I want seats with headrest front & back. I've seen a couple on here with Dodge & Tahoe front and back seats that look nice. I just came from the junkyard where I looked at a 2003 F150 crew cab or supercrew I think they call it. Anyway I like the seats, the front is the 60/40 split bench. The rear is a 60/40 design that fold down. Has anyone ever adapted the front or rear seats from this body style into a bump or dent truck regular or crew cab?
I have read on here that new seats set real high, new trucks floors have alot more odd angles. You will have to mod the heck out of the mounts to lower them, but it is doable.
Never been a fan of modern interiors in classic vehicles. In my opinion a nice refinish of a stock (or similar) bench seat would look/fit with the vehicle way better. But to each their own...
If I were to go with a newer seat setup in my truck I would personally look for a nice low back, 60/40 bench seat with fold down console set up. Maybe something with removable headrests (so that I could remove them)
EDIT: on second look, that back seat set up you posted would look real nice in an older truck if the head rests were removed. But not sure about the lines of the front buckets..to modern looking for my taste.
I don't mind folks expression opinions. I use my truck daily, it's a grocery getter. I take my girls to dance 3 days a week and pick them up from school everyday. We also take camping trips in the truck. We are slowing restoring it and upgrading it to suit our needs without taking away too much from the classic look. My wife & I want head rest in case of a rear end accident. I like my stock bench, actually took a 9 hour trip in it and it was nicer than riding in my wife's 2004 Expedition. My kids are not happy to replace the bench either but we just feel it's safer. Once I get something installed someday we will recover them in a older looking pattern.
Why don't you have somebody modify the existing seats? Some of the newer seats have the headrest mounted on metal posts that go into the seat back. I'm sure an automotive fabric shop could modify your factory seats to accept a headrest.

Totally understandable. When its your daily driver, function (and safety) will always prevail over "nostalgia"
Good luck and post pictures once its finished!
I have a std cab and put a set of 2001 lightning seats in it. I made a square tubing base for the seats and mounted the factory F100 slides on them. The one problem I had was back of those seat are really thick so with them pushed all the way back you sit really close to the steering wheel. It might not be a big deal in your truck. I understand that 90 ish F150 bolt right in and they do have an arm rest just no cup holders.
I picked these up at the junkyard. They are from a 2003 Lariat SuperCrew. Except for the tear in the driver's seat the leather is perfect. I found wiring schematics and it appears that all the electronics are contained in the seat. I checked and the control modules are in place. The truck had just came onto the yard. I plan to install the rear first in the next couple weeks. I'll post pics when I'm done.

Did you get the seats mounted?
I have a 78 crew and am wondering how the 3rd row seats from a tahoe would fit? They have the integral shoulder belt too.

I haven't got them installed yet. I decided it was more than I had time to handle and I'd need a welder. I have a fab shop lined up that does this sort of work. They should be ready for my next week. I'll post some pics when it's done. We decided to build a frame fro the front and bolt it to my original tracks then bolt the seat to the frame. The drivers side was power adjustable and the frame needed a lot of mods to work.
I think I've seen someone mount seats from a Tahoe in the rear. I'll have to search through some of my idea links I saved.
