Can anyone give me the correct information on correct and/or best application for the following set up on roller rocker arms.
I am building a 1987 351W, for my 1977 F150. Working with a tight budget.
I have found set of 1994 GT-40 heads, locally from a Cobra, not a bad price and the guy has a set of pedestal mount crane roller rockers he used on the heads, but they are 1.7 ratio. I have been reading and all I see is 1.6 ratio recomended.
I could get these for a good price with the heads, but am concered I will create a problem, with the valve geometry.
Can anyone give me direction on this problem? Are 1.7 ok and no problem or do you have to compensate in other areas, or should I duck, just take the heads, and buy 1.6 rockers.
Thanks for a speedy response I asked the guy to hold the rockers for me for a couple of days so I could check.
The 1.7 ratio won't hurt anything in your setup, it might even help you a bit. Just remember when you are shopping for a cam shaft that you take into account the extra little bit of lift generated by the 1.7 ratio.
