Chrysler AC Parts?

1992 F 150 6 cyl. Manufactured in 12/91

I was replacing my AC gas and found that the Low Pressure switch was bad and went to the local parts store to purchase a new one. The one the parts guy brought me did not look anything like the original. I then had him bring me a complete drier and it looked completely different too.

Went to another store and had the same part brought to me. This guy had me bring him my old part and he matched it up with a picture in his book. He said it was a Chrysler part.

Why would my Ford be using Chrysler parts?

Look on the switch and see if it has a Ford part number like this link. Ford copied the design of the FS-6 compressor from Mopar, so it wouldn't surprise me if the switch is a copy, too. If it fits and works, who cares?
