Electronic Ignition Duraspark2 HELP PLEASE
I thought I had the problem fixed..Guess it wasn't that easy.
Changed the duraspark Mod, Checked Inigition switch, rang out the wires to the mod and tested for voltage at coil.
Also tried to jump out the coil from the batterie. The Tac works while you crank it. so it would seem to me the switching system is working from the mod. But it won't fire until I back of the key to the off position and then it won't stay running of corse.
If I put the key on aux and jump it from the batterie to the pos side of the coil and crank it at the solinoid it will run and once it's started it will start the rest of the day normally. But when I let it sit the next morning I have to jump it as I explained via aux.
Funny thing is I live in Cal and if I try to start it when it's warm out it will most likely start. But like today it's over 100 and it won't start. I thought it could be the inigition switch but how come after I jump it I could go 100 places and it will start normally ? The only thing I haven't done is replace the coil. I check it on my other truck it works fine. Being an electrician for 23 years even this ones got me. I appreciate any help..also feel free to ask any question to better give you an idea in case I left something out. Sometimes walking alway from a brain basher will help ya think..I tried that it's been 3 days now and it's still got me....Thanks...Mark

That shouldn't be running in the AUX/ACC position.
Only in the RUN position.
Could be the ignition switch causing the problem.
Have you tried putting it in the RUN then try starting with by-passing the solenoid?

Yeah I tried the run position and no luck. I also tried just by passing the key and hooking everything up real simple.
ie: I got a wiring diagram for the module and just hooked up the coil and the dist,coil,and batterie and cranked it at the solinoid..
No luck.

Okay I pulled the top of the cap and rmoved the clip from the vacume advance and turned the pickup coil back and forth while the key was on...I get spark so would you concider the module and the pick up to be good ?
