Gentlemen and Ladys: I hope everyone had a Great 4 th!! The question I have is,is there a trim molding that is used on the (Kick Panels) to finish the end that faces the door opening on a stock panel? part # BAAA-8102340-pr for a 54 F100? Also the bottom corner of the panel will have a gap caused by the floor brace that is behind the panel unless I bend the panel severely in order to install a fastener at the lower corner. I did not have any panels to start with so I don,t know what the story is. Thanks Jim VA.
Jim... I made my kick panels for the '54 and notched for that lump at the door end at the bottom. There is a u shaped piece of molding (channel) that came with my truck... slips over the sheet metal and the panel to finish and secure the edge. Best. Himmelberg
Peter; Thanks for the responce. Do you know if there is a part # for those moldings? I could not locate one in my catalogues. Is the molding metal or rubber? Perhaps I could use some of the headliner (rubber molding). At least it would be a finished edge.. Thanks Jim VA.
Metal molding, Jim. Pretty beat up but works well. Any kind of channel would work... then again, Dale found a shiney one... so there you go. Best. Himmelberg
As far as the kick panel itself, I used the Rod Doors pre-molded pieces. They are formed with the swell at the bottom to go over that brace. You will still need to trim a little to get an exact fit. Flat material seems like a lot of trouble and it would be necessary to cut out a large notch for the brace. Good luck, John
