I learned that on my 96' 150 I do not have a TFI module, but the symptoms of my truck sound very simmilar to a faulty TFI module. It stalls after it is warm but always starts back up, idles rough, and Ford dealerships can not even figure it out. My wife wants me to just get a new truck, but I love this truck(aside from the stalling). If anyone has had similar symptoms or has any input into what it could be, it would be much appreciated. I really dont want to get rid of this truck over an ignition problem.
I have pretty much ruled out a fuel problem because the truck will run fine for a month, and the the next month die every day. It sounds to me like an intermittent ignition problem? I also have two trouble codes indicating a rich and lean mixture???????
Check here - I think you DO have a TFI, but I also think you should get a Haynes manual ($12 at most parts stores) or a Ford service CD ($10 deliverd off eBay) and test the coil.
The stalling can cause the engine to run rich (because the fuel isn't being burned) and letting it roll to a stop can set the lean code.
