Joined for one reason only...
My very first vehicle was a 1970 F-150. I owned it for about a year, the timing chain broke, it got towed, and before I could get the money to get it out, I basically had to sign it over, then they sold it. I was 18, and it was 2001.
One day, I'm desperately wanting to get another one. I only have two pictures of it, and every time I look at them, I get nostalgic.
My problem in finding another one is, I don't think it was an F-150. The pictures show it had a 'Custom' metal emblem on both sides, and the owner told me it was an F-150, but I haven't found any info to show there actually WAS an F-150 released that year.
Anyway, that's my introduction, and I'm hoping to get more info on the truck I owned. Because that truck is my 'holy grail' in anything I've ever wanted.
F150's introduced in 1975.
Custom introduced in 1970, also available 1970/72: Sport Custom, Ranger & Ranger XLT, Custom cheapest, Ranger XLT most expensive.
1967/72 F100/350's are called "Bumpsides" as they have a raised scallop line midway along the body sides.
For additional info, ask questions in the 1967/72 forum.
May 15-17 2014: F100 SuperNationals 3 day truck show/swap meet held in Pigeon Forge TN
I'm going to post over there very soon. Thank you again.
