air bag flashing code 5-3
[updated:LAST EDITED ON 17-May-02 AT 08:34 AM (EST)]Can anyone tell me what that code is? I have seen the many posts regarding the clockspring which is usually code 3-2. I saw a couple of others that had other codes and people said they were other problems than the clockspring. I couldn't find anything about a 5-3. I am wondering if it might be the left front sensor because I hit a deer about 6 months ago and it damaged my bumber in that area. Any help would be appreciated. You don't have to bother explaining the clockspring stuff, there are plenty of posts about that.

Is it a Canadian built vehicle ? Some of the Ontario built trucks were recalled due to faulty Air Bag Diagnostic Monitors . Since you have Code 53 the pinpoint test says to replace it . You may want to check with your local Ford Dealer for details .
