Hi guys,
How would I go about bench testing the 4-in-1 original gauge cluster in my 51 F1? I have a 12V electrical system and I believe I have the voltage converters on hand for the 6V gauges. Pics and simple wiring diagrams would be a great help! I understand electricity like I understand women--not much. tyler
The stock gauges can be tested with a pair of D or C Cell batteries. They should read full scale with 3 Volts applied and read half scale with 1.5 Volts applied. This applies to all gauges except the Batt/Amp meter.

OK, thanks! So as a D or C cell battery provides 1.5V, would I put two batteries is series to achieve the 3V? Thanks! t
Yes, one battery cell provides 1.5 volts DC, so you would put two in series for the full swng test, and use only one for the half way test. This test is done with out any voltage reduceres or anything else in the way.
