Brake Fluid Compatibility
At issue is a '69 Mach 1, front calipers, rear drums. Stock fluid in brake system. The car is up on jackstands awaiting the machine shop on a major rebuild.
I am looking at a quart of Johnsen's Synthetic DOT-3 brake fluid and want to flush the brake system with it. There is nothing on the label about Silicone. The parts monkey said it was okay to use it.
My question is: Is this fluid compatible with stock fluid?
We would appreciate advice.
