i need some advice

Hey everyone,
Has anyone every heard of Longevity?
I've been looking into buying one of their 3 in 1 multiprocess welders. They looks like great relaibale welders and the price is in my range with a 1 year warranty.
Just seeing if anyone has had any experience with their company? Or any suggestions?
Thanks.

Here's the welder I'm looking at:

Since I don't know anything about them ( or welding equipment in general), I looked them up on the better business bureau.

They were rated D -- which seemed a little unfair, since it was based on one complaint -- but they didn't respond to the BBB about the complaint.

They had responded to a couple of earlier ones.

Of more concern was that they apparently have only 9 employees. So, they're probably either a really small outfit, or they just label products that they buy elsewhere.

Anyway, they do seem to sell through a number of outlets. Maybe you could actually look one over at a place near you. Doesn't tell you everything, but if it seems sturdy and heavy duty, that's a good start.

Good Luck,

hj

Being Global tells me they are mostly being built overseas. My concern is there are a lot of functions in one unit.
If your going to spend that kind of money I would be leaning more towards a major brand Miller, or Lincoln. I'm sure they built an import line that is competitive.
What about service or warranty work?? With the major brands there much easier to get service/parts or whatever.
If they are not sold by a major store in this Country that is another flag for me. Heck if Harbor Freight carried them at least you could get it replaced or fixed because they have their own warranties & are nationwide.
Just my two cents. That is a lot of money to gamble I think.

You know what? I'm going to go out on a limb here....

The best hotrod fabricators online community I know of is:
www.jalopyjournal.com

~You go there, ask them what they think of this welder, and please come back here and tell us what they told you.

I recently bought a HOBART.

I always heard the best was Hobie or LINCOLN.

But those guys build custom classic rods all day long - it's their life. It is also the best place to learn about metal forming I know of.

Do that thing, and get back to us on it, PLEASE!

***They - ahh.... Cuss a bit on their forums, and don't care much about that.
