Needing some wisdom..
I`m pretty sure I have a bearing going out in the back of my Trooper. Can`t tell if it`s a wheel bearing or worse, in the diff. Anyone have a good suggestion on how to locate the offending bearing without tearing everything apart?

If the fluid level is OK in the diff, I would be inclined to think it is a wheel bearing.

put it on heavy duty jack stands and anchor it, and have someone put it in gear while you listen closely to where the sound is coming from.

bring it to the house some time, we can load it up on the trailer, anchor it to the trailer with tie down straps, and put it on my jack stands,

Culprit found.. Passenger side rear. Leaking brake cylinder may have been the thing that started it all..

Thanks! me too! I also am needing new brake shoes and pads so I guess it`s time to get dirty.
