223 Won't Idle

After a bit of cleanup and adjustment the 6 cyl began to run fairly well, but wouldn't run with less than about 1/4 choke. I decided to rebuild the carb, ordered a kit from Mike and followed his videos, installed the carb and it runs exactly the same. Can't find any vacuum leaks, is this a timing issue? My skills are tested and found wanting. Anyone have any thoughts?

Are you able to get any adjustment out of the idle mix screw?

tried the idle screw in and out and in and out, seems to have no effect. Clutch works!

If no adjustment at idle screw, my first thought is a clogged passage way somewheres? carburetor is acting exactly like mine when I first got my truck, in my case the cork bowl gasket came apart and junk was throughout my carb-but I rebuilt mine and replaced vacuum advance diaphragm and that took care of problemo
