Impressive indeed. It takes a lot of skill to play like that while pulling off that kind of choreography. That's a lot more coordination than I possess! I've tried playing (kit) drums in the past and it's all I can do to get both hands and feet to do different things. I'm sure it's a matter of practice but it sure seems like some guys are just born with a natural talent for it. I can hold my own vocally and don't embarrass myself too badly with a 5 string electric bass, but drumming isn't my strong suit by any means.
Thanks for sharing the videos. That's good stuff. Be sure and post up the videos of their world championship performance when it gets posted.
And THE SOUND of being there in person, theres nothing like it. So rich and full. The videos don't do it justice.
And I will definatly post the world final when it comes up.
Yeah I do some singing as well, I sang in our church band for a while, kinda taking a little break from it.

The real test will be pulling a load up a decent grade, but I am guessing it will still be fine. As far as EOTs, you know I went through a little bit of stress with the temps I saw while under heavy load. I changed my thermostat back to a 180* from a 203*, but I also live in a much warmer climate than you do, so it made sense for me to do so. Now, I did a lot of research in the EOT thing after that trip because I really had no real knowledge of what was acceptable. What I found was that the HD oils we use as well as the PSD can easily withstand temps up to 260*before we need to worry about anything catastrophic happening. My Edge has the "red zone" set at 230* and that is what made me panic a little. I did change my thermostat on that trip to bring them down and it helped quite a bit, but looking back, I may not have done anything if I knew then what I do now. You can check this out if you want and see what I learned. It helped me quite a bit. I think Todd told me our truck won't even de-fuel for EOTs until they hit like 260*. I can't imagine ever getting close to that unless the truck was severely overloaded.
Other than that, all of it sounds good!! You are right on the comfort level. I absolutely love taking my 17 year old truck across country and having people just ask questions and be surprised I am doing so. Makes me laugh a little. Rock on man. Your work did you well!
Sorry Byron, was going to respond but it kinda got lost till I was scrolling through and realize I hadn't responded!
That is great information! And makes me feel at ease for sure. The trip was just awesome from start to finish. It was nice not having to worry about the rig and just get to enjoy driving it and the fruits of my labor. I never thought once about the age or mileage. She's a runner!
Hit play on "Renegade", expecting to hear a Kansas cover, there's Howard Beale mixed in. Awesome!
Yuh, something about pulling up with the diesel idling, automatically says "I'm with the group". That was pretty slick. Congrats to your friend, and nice update on the trip. We've done several 1000+ mile trips in the ECLB, never missing a beat. Only nail-biter was when my dad died. Still on the OEM dual-mass flywheel, no time to replace before hitting the road, 3000+ miles including the mountains of Tennessee. Just kept praying to my dad's old St. Christopher medal, and by golly she made it.
+1 on the ride; even with the much-maligned TTB, once you get on the open highway, the 40/20/40 seat almost too comfortable. I just love the view down the road from that height (stock height); y'ever notice when you get in a passenger car, you feel like your butt's draggin'?

Yeah, Renegade is definatly one of my favorite shows.
And yeah I can't say enough how nice of a ride that was, I have no gripes about the TTB, although it is still making a noise of some sort when I turn the wheel at a stop, still not sure what thats all about (actually I have a idea that I should have done the center bushing when I had it all apart) And yeah whenever I get into the Lincoln it definatly feels different! haha.
I should have jumped on that D60 when I had the chance, oh well another one will come along.
Glad you guys enjoyed the videos. Pretty sweet that we can share drumming videos on a truck website. At least I think so. They are truly a work of art.
Well, as promised, here is the clip of the World Finals I was at last month. Its amazing. I still can't believe how fortunate I was to be able to be there to see it for myself.
Still having some starting issues. I'm going to start a new thread and let you all know whats going on. I have a couple of ideas, but nothing definate.
