Does anyone have an opinion on Stainless versus Poly tanks? I have to replace mine as some had taken it out from underneath and put it behind the seat in the cab. Would it be better to put it back stock or between the rails in the back?
Thanks
See my post under the recent thread entitled, "the Niolon Mustang Install". I have an aluminum tank behind the rear melon that I fabbed support braces for. My only goof-ups where: (1) I bought a top-fill tank when I should've got a side fill. As a result, I had to raise the bed floor so I could put a bend in the filler tube. Then I ran the filler tube to the filler door, which I incorporated in the rear 1/4 panel on the driver's side w/ pop-out door; and (2) I got the tank with the foam inside it. I got sold on the idea that it helps control fuel delivery. I've since come to learn that's good if you're in serious off-road or dirt-track competitions, but not at all necessary for daily driver's like mine. Also, the foam dispalces some volume, so my 20-gal tank only holds about 15 gals, making trips to the gas station all the more frequent.
Hope this helps. If you'd like to see pix of the support braces, E mail me and I'l shoot ya some.

PS- aluminum vs. poly??? both provide the same function, so get one that fits your dimensions for your tank area and is affordable to you for the best quality you can afford.
