I've got a '78 F100 packing a 302. How much power would Hedman long tube headers and a 3 inch diameter dual custom exhaust with an x-pipe and no cats add? I know that it had 135 stock with the 2bbl carb.
Dual 3" exhaust is WAY too big for a low compression smog era 302, even a single 3" is too big. Put longtubes on it but with a single 2.5" system for the best balance of torque and horsepower. These changes will certainly provide gains but if you really want to uncork this motor the stock heads, cam, and intake/carb will have to go, that can all be done in stages however.

Oh, I know it is. The final build will include a heavy cam, roller rockers, Trickflow twisted wedge heads, etc. Just didn't want to have to spend the money for a new exhaust system twice (Had to get it done because the old one was rotting off). I'm just wondering how much power it may have at the moment.
