this post has nothing to do with trucks, my daughter in-law purchased a Ford van and had the pump replaced, this is not the same system we had on our older trucks, it has a separate reservoir. now the trouble is, as long as the van is running the fluid stays and the power system works, but when you shut off the van the fluid flows out of the top of the reservoir.can any one lead me toward a fix?
It sounds like it is not fully bled of air. when the pump is running, the air bubbles in the system compress under the pressure, and when the pump pressure dies at shutoff, the bubble of air expands and pushes fluid back out. do you have a manual for the proper bleeding procedure for your van?
no I do not have a manual. I did not do the work when the new pump was put on. though the air not venting dose give me something to think about. She should be over some time this morning. I will look for some place to vent the air.

What year is the van, which I assume is an Econoline?
