So, with the 2015's hitting dealer lots, the question becomes.....just what does the 2015 offer me that the 2014 doesn't and is any difference worth the added cost when a highly discounted 2014 can be had?
I would say it depends on what you need the truck for. If you are towing a lot then the 15 is better but for a "normal" duty truck either would suit you just fine I would think.

The 2015 is the next evolution/iteration in what is now the 6.7 Liter Ford Diesel Motor. A lot of improvements were made to the motor and fuel delivery system that is supposed to increase the longevity of both. In addition more HP/TQ. A "real" exhaust brake. Body style and interior overall appears to be mostly the same. Different colors and combo's.
Unless you are getting a great deal on a 2014 - your trade in will be higher on a 2015 than a 2014. Especially, if these improvements are what they are supposed to be. A first run 2015 will of course make you a bit of a guinea pig though, which is something to think about.
Since you are talking F250 and want to limit it there... I think it about ends there. (There are more differences in the 350/450 range though.)
I do agree what nojoke327 says - if you are only doing minimal hauling and towing, either would be fine. Heck, the 2011 I have is the best stock truck I've owned, to the point this is also the first I didn't put a power adder on.

I've heard the 250's are pretty much the same, other than the larger turbo and they upped the HP and Trq. I apologize for jumping in here, but looking at trading my 1/2 ton, of course it will be a Ford.
I've also heard there would be a "reflash" for the current series soon, to up the power a little. Anyone heard that, or is that just some break room BS?

Of course the payload is diff from the 350 but If your just referring to engine nevermind.
I thought the break room rumor was that the 2015's would get another software update/reflash for more power - not the 2011 - 2014....
F350 DRW's can get a wide track front end, which makes turning sharper. More payload/towing is supposedly coming to the F350's and F450's as well. F450's get commercial grade 19.5's available as standard, factory equipment. An F450 is now supposed to go back to being a real F450 and not a F350 tow boss.
I am DIEING to drive the new 2015's. Both the F350 SRW and and the DRW with the widetrack. Then a F450 equipped the same way.
I think that we will see some more changes coming, but Ford is keeping quiet, since they just spanked Dodge and Chevy in pulling contests up grades in high altitude. If you remember the 2011 - 2014 got spanked in the same test. Waiting to see how the real exhaust brake does too. Ford may want to do some sneaky upgrades once Chevy and Dodge show their next move. I don't know this for a fact though. Just a thought.

I'm only referring to the 250 and engine. I've heard the only differences (other than paint options, etc) on the 250 would be the higher HP rating. I'd also read the 450 would have some suspension tweaks, exhaust brake, etc.. IDK, can't believe everything you hear.

Like I said, maybe BS, the guy I was talking to is currently in a 2013, I had mentioned the higher HP / TRQ rating on the'15's, that's when he said there was a reflash upcoming for the current generation. Who knows, I do know one thing, the current iteration of the 250 is plenty powerful now!
I just got a 14 F 350 3 weeks ago. For me 10% bump in hp and tq didn't justify the price difference especially since I keep a truck for 10 years and only tow a few times a year.
I'm very happy with the new truck, major difference from my 03 F250.

I'm going to hold off as long as possible, mine will more than likely be a '14, I've seen a couple of dealers down here (according to their website) has a couple of '15's, not sure if the truck is on order, or if they have it on the lot. They're probably not going to give a very big discount on those, same dealer just quoted me a $11k discount on a '14 though. We'll see. As far as towing, I don't tow very much / very often, have just always wanted a SD truck.

I tow quite often and heavy. This truck blows anything out of the water Ive had.A ten percent increase in power isnt going to do it for me either. It tows my 14 k fiver effortlessly. What more can I ask.
But.... If I had money coming out of my butt I would buy it.But thats not the case
I just got quoted $54K (+TTL) on this particular truck. It's a '14 250 Platinum, 6" Pro-Comp lift (and he said) 37" tires (I haven't actually seen the truck in person) the only thing I'm not sure about is it has 3.73 gears (no E-Locker), and it has the 10,000 payload option.(not sure what that is). Anyway, what are your thoughts on the gear ratio, sure it won't get very good mileage with the lift, tires, and gears, I'm not real concerned about that. Alot of folks have told me that the "E-Locker" was a must, I know that's not available on a 3.73 rear though. (the price above does include the lift and tires).
