Most places that put a 5.9 cummins in a ford get about 10 to 15 grand for the job. The mismatched wheels? Set of toledo adapters bolted to the rears (the studs are plenty long enough for duals as well) and all would match. If I was granted that truck by a genie, I would eat off those floors in a heartbeat, and door panels just give the mice one more hidden place to hide........I LOVE this '60.
Gary, you guys in the land of Rain and Rust, have to "settle for". We in the land of Sunshine have no need to, but that would be a hard truck to find, regardless.
My truck's a bit dirty, would you mind vacuuming its' floor boards? All the McDonalds fries you care to eat.....LOL!
While I would also eat off the floor depending on what the food was, I think the fella living in the development that bought the old truck from the fire department is trying to turn too much of a profit.
Spoke to him, he bought the truck stock and had the drivetrain swapped in, trying to recoup his cost, may or may not be high, depends on how bad you want it and if you have the time or ability to do it yourself.
The value of an old truck depends on what someone will pay for it. The floors on this truck were filthy and the inside door panels were missing, but I put it on toyota site last month for 21 grand and sold it for 20 grand in less than 3 hours. It was painted with 3 colors of rustoleum mixed together with cornstarch to flatten in a 30 dollar gun. I swear on the bible there is no exaggeration here. I guess I made too much profit, but with retirement looming and a pitiful IRA, it semed like a good move to me, and the new owner emails me excitedly about all the plans he has for it. (lexus v8, 4 wheel discs etc, etc, yuk). Just sayin'.......
I like that '60 flatbed. I'd put duals on it though.....the wheels would match and look much better. Price doesn't seem out of line to me. Compared to some of the JUNK I've seen for sale...
